WiffleATL Turning Over A New Leaf
Last spring I expressed how skeptical I was that WiffleATL would updated their website. They're notorious for having a sleek website with outdated information - which is a shame. 2011 saw more updates from them than I can recall in 2010. And for that, I think congratulations are in order. But I've noticed that the homepage of the website never featured the end of the playoffs or anything like that. So I prowled their messageboard and it didn't take long to find out that someone from the league has built a blogger website for the league and it appears that it could possibly replace the current website. Perhaps relieving the burden of working on the design of the site will be exactly what the league's webmaster needs to update the site more often. Leagues using blogger can have really nice sites too (such as Wiffle in Southeast Michigan) so it's not like WiffleATL is settling for less.

WiffleATL starts 2011 season
WiffleATL has started their 2011 season...but they still have the 2010 website. NBC sweeps the Pirates in a 2-game series this past Sunday. NBC was one of the strong contenders in the league last year and may rise to the top in 2011...although we may never know it from the website. If you want to know anything about this league I'll let you in on a little secret: visit their messageboard. Blaine is normally pretty good about posting little game recaps, but when the season is in full swing it can become a luxury. Hopefully WiffleATL can pull something together to update the homepage.

WiffleATL in the wind...
According to a post on the NWLA messageboard from WiffleATL's commissioner the WATL 2011 season opener will be soon. But how soon? When? As we await more elaboration on the messageboard I feel that it is necessary to make a statement about the Wiffle Atlanta website. Although it is a beautiful site is is going though the same funk that Hess Field went through last year: obsolete information. Through much of 2010 WiffleATL's website was a place of old news and empty space. Aside from asking new players to sign up and informing members of some rule changes, the site looks the same as it did last year. Last year's standings are still on the home page! Last year if you wanted to know what was going on with their league you had to hit up their messageboard and even then you might not find out much. WiffleATL is a great league and I hate seeing them so closed off! Let us in!
As soon as it is known when WiffleATL's season opener will be you know you'll be able to find out about it here.
